About Resonetics

Founded in 1987, Resonetics uses laser micromachining technology to provide a critical fabrication method for medical devices and diagnostic components, with features as small as one micron. While much of our work is for the life sciences industry, we also provide laser micromachining services for other markets in addition to designing and manufacturing turnkey laser micromachining systems for the scientific and industrial markets.

Polymer Micromachining Focus and Core Competencies

Resonetics has the U.S.’s largest independent polymer laser micromachining facility, with over 50 short wavelength excimer laser micromachining systems, as well as femtosecond, diode-pumped solid-state and CO2 laser systems. Our core competency is leveraging our world-class research and engineering staff to scale up the machining of polymer-based components in high volume with attractive cost models. We maximize quality and product yields by implementing in-situ machine vision, closed loop systems and material compensation methods. Resonetics is regarded as an industry pioneer and continuously expands its intellectual property portfolio.

While our focus is polymers, our work includes precision laser micromachining of glass, ceramics and thin metals for 2-D (flat and tubular) and 3-D geometries. In addition to laser micromachining, we provide other value-added manufacturing services to help our OEM partners streamline their supply chain.

Dedicated Application Development and Prototyping Resources

Our Application Development Lab accelerates the product development cycle, giving product development teams a vehicle to iterate prototype designs rapidly, speeding time to market.

State of the Art Facilities

In 2011, Resonetics moved into a world-class manufacturing facility with expansion capacity up to 270,000 square feet, including a large clean room manufacturing space.
