Ophthalmic Solutions

Developing ophthalmic surgical and delivery systems requires a high level of precision, scalability, and integration. Our advanced micro manufacturing capabilities, combined with expertise across materials, processes, and complex assemblies, help leading MedTech companies bring ophthalmic devices from concept through production.

Simplify Development and Accelerate Commercialization

We help ophthalmic device manufacturers reduce supplier complexity and accelerate time to market by serving as a single, vertically integrated partner capable of prototyping, production, and sub-assembly.

From Concept to Production

A vertically integrated approach enables seamless progression across every stage of development. By combining design, prototyping, manufacturing, and assembly under one roof, programs move forward with improved consistency and reduced supply chain complexity.

  • 1 Concept
  • 2 Design
  • 3 Prototype
  • 4 Manufacturing
  • 5 Assembly

End-to-end capabilities include:

Accelerating Development with Lightspeed Labs®

Lightspeed Labs® provide rapid prototyping and development support to help advance ophthalmic programs efficiently. With locations across the globe, teams can collaborate closely, iterate quickly, and transition smoothly into manufacturing.

Access to a range of tubing and materials allows for fast design iteration and efficient early-stage development.

Custom Drawn Tubing

High-quality semi-finished stainless steel tubing supports ophthalmic surgical systems and instruments. Available in sizes as small as 0.15 mm outside diameter (OD) with 0.025 mm wall thickness (WT), this capability delivers consistent material performance and scalable manufacturing for demanding ophthalmic applications.

Precision Cleaning

Vacuum cleaning processes ensure even the smallest internal diameters are thoroughly cleaned. By reaching tight geometries and micro-features, this method removes contaminants that traditional approaches can miss.

Insert and Overmolding

On-site tooling design enables faster iteration and greater development control. High-volume injection molding, combined with insert and overmolding techniques, supports precise component integration and repeatability at scale. Our micro molding capabilities extend to parts weighing as little as approximately 0.396 mg (0.000396 g), enabling the production of highly intricate components for demanding ophthalmic applications.
