For over 30 years, Resonetics has been a pioneer in laser micro manufacturing. Founded in 1987, Resonetics has a passion for using lasers to solve complex manufacturing challenges. Since starting, we have invested heavily in leading edge technology and developing laser experts. We have deployed over 100 laser workstations that cover a wide spectrum of laser types and wavelengths – femtosecond, picosecond, excimer, DPSS, and CO2. Combining state-of-the-art laser systems with a top technical team allows Resonetics to partner with customers, and provide winning solutions that meet technical and economic requirements.

Tom joined Resonetics in 2012 as CEO, bringing 25 years of experience in the medical device and contract manufacturing industries. Prior to joining Resonetics, he was V.P. Business Development at Tegra Medical, a diversified contract manufacturer providing precision metal machining services. Before Tegra, Tom was V.P. Sales & Marketing at Web Industries, a contract converter serving the in vitro diagnostics, aerospace and consumer products industries. Tom spent nine years in sales and marketing leadership roles at both Accellent and two of the companies it acquired. For the first 11 years of his career, he worked in various sales and marketing roles at Genzyme, Edwards LifeSciences and Johnson & Johnson. Tom graduated with honors from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Business Administration.

Kevin joins Resonetics through the acquisition of Mound Laser. In the CTO role at Resonetics, Kevin drives the technical roadmap of the company, oversees all research and development activities. He leads the Advanced Technology Group and Lightspeed ADL™ team. At Mound Laser, Kevin played a key role in providing technical leadership and growing Mound Laser to a leader in laser micro manufacturing of metal components for the medical device industry. Kevin has 13 years of laser experience and expertise in technology development and commercialization. He started his career at the Edison Welding Institute (EWI) as a Project Engineer in the Laser Processing Department. After four years at EWI, he accepted a position with Spectra-Physics Inc. (Mountain View, CA) as a Product Manager. He has a B.S. in Welding Engineering from The Ohio State University and an MBA from the University of Dayton.

Senior Vice President, Velocity and Automation
Grayson joined Resonetics in 2017 following the acquisition of Aduro Laser. As Senior Vice President, Velocity and Automation, he will continue to drive the Davis-based Prime™ Laser Cut Tubing team, while also implementing high efficiency manufacturing techniques at all Resonetics locations. He co-founded Aduro Laser in 2013, and after four years of rapid growth, Aduro merged with Resonetics. Grayson drove Aduro to become the most cost-effective, high-quality manufacturer of laser cut tubing in the industry, a level of service that will continue and expand with Resonetics.
Grayson has over 25 years of experience in the high-tech manufacturing industry. He founded his first company, Pulse Systems, in 1998, and sold it in 2004, after which he served on the board until 2007. Prior to that, Grayson managed the engineering and manufacturing division of Autocam California, a machining company specializing in automotive and medical device parts. Before joining Autocam, he worked for Toyota (NUMMI), where he led a special projects group responsible for designing and operating new assembly lines at the Fremont, California plant. Grayson holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Chico.

Jim joined Resonetics in January 2017 as Vice President, Sales. Jim brings over 30 years of experience in the medical device industry, as well as a wide breadth of product experience and a deep understanding of challenges and opportunities facing the industry. In the role of Vice President of Sales, Jim will lead sales in North America and Central America, and will oversee the customer service team at Resonetics’ five facilities. Prior to joining Resonetics, Jim served as Vice President Global Accounts for the Advanced Surgical and Orthopedics Division of Integer, and served as Vice President, Sales for divisions of Lake Region Medical, and Accellent.

Demian joined Resonetics in 2017 upon the acquisition of Aduro Laser. As the Vice President, Davis Operations, Demian interfaces with customers, manages the quotation process and is responsible for order execution. He co-founded Aduro Laser in 2013, and built Aduro’s custom manufacturing database system, a significant contributor to the company’s overall efficiency, while also managing Aduro’s inside sales.
Prior to Aduro Laser’s founding, Demian was Senior Director of Operations at Pulse Systems beginning in 2003. He was responsible for all laser-cutting manufacturing, inside sales, and worked closely with customers to improve their designs for manufacturability. Before his time at Pulse, Demian managed LPL Systems’ laser manufacturing operations. He led the systems manufacturing process including purchasing components, scheduling builds, testing laser systems, and shipping and installation. Demian received his B.A. in Business Economics from University of California, Santa Barbara.

Lauren joined Resonetics in 2015 through the acquisition of Mound Laser. As the Director of Marketing, Lauren leads the development and implementation of the company's brand and marketing strategy. In her 10 years at Mound Laser, Lauren excelled in various sales and marketing roles contributing to a 23% cumulative annual growth rate over a decade. Lauren was a student-athlete at Wright State University and graduated with a B.S. in Marketing and also earned a MBA degree at the University of Dayton in 2011.

Nick joined Resonetics through the acquisition of Mound Laser. As the role of Director Lightspeed ADL™, Nick manages the Resonetics’ development engineering group, as well as oversees all new technology projects from prototype to production. Nick contributes over 35 years of leadership experience in program management, process improvement and engineer disciplines. Nick graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from Bowling Green State University in 1988.

Jessica is the latest addition to the leadership team, joining Resonetics in 2015 as Director of Human Resources. For the previous 9 years, Jessica worked at Insulet Corporation, a high growth start-up company in the diabetes care market, most recently as Senior Manager Human Resources. Over her time there, the company experienced dramatic growth and Jessica was involved in pre-acquisition due diligence, helped establish subsidiaries in Singapore and China, implemented several business process automation initiatives, and managed a team of generalists. Jessica also implemented the company’s first Learning Management System and led the development of a new performance appraisal process. Before that, she worked at the Walker School, supporting children with behavioral, emotional and psychological disabilities, as an administrative assistant, Assistant Teacher and Child Behavior Specialist. Jessica graduated from Fitchburg State College with a B.S. in Developmental Psychology and has a Graduate Certificate, Human Resource Management from Northeastern University.

PASCAL MILLER, Ph.D

Pascal has been at Resonetics since 1997 and manages the systems engineering group, a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and technicians. He is responsible for the design and development of capital equipment for internal use as well as for external markets. Pascal has over 20 years of experience in the capital equipment business. Prior to joining Resonetics, he worked in the graphics art equipment industry at Optronics (currently owned by ECRM), designing state of the art computer-to-plate laser imaging equipment, including laser imaging systems for large format external drums. He also worked at QC Optics, as Director of New Product Development, managing the design of state-of-the-art laser inspection equipment for the semiconductor and disk drive industries. Pascal holds a degree in Engineering from the Free University of Brussels, Belgium and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Massachusetts. He is the author of 12 U.S. patents and multiple technical publications.

Some of the challenges the Advanced Technology Team handles include:

Developing advanced optical technology necessary for efficient laser micro-machining. This can include:
• Beam conditioning for excimer and solid-state lasers (homogenization, profile control).
• Proprietary optical architectures of beam splitting, switching and modulation.
• Advanced mask design and fabrication.
• Advanced lens design for projection and scanning optics.

Study and control of laser-material interaction. This can include:
• Wave-length, pulse-width, pulse train effects.
• Minimization of the heat affected zone (HAZ) via optimized energy distribution.
• Machining environment control (temperature, humidity, process and cover gases and exhaust).
• Material science work as applied to the materials of interest to our customers.
• Advanced characterization and metrology methods for the products we fabricate.

We interact with your engineering and R&D staff, especially at early stages of product development, in order to optimize manufacturability and functionality. With nine patents issued, two pending and a large number of invention disclosures under review, our team has a demonstrated ability to develop novel solutions to solve manufacturing challenges.
