Roll-to-Roll Laser Cutting and Ablation

Our proprietary roll-to-roll laser systems cut microchannels and ablate features in films, foils, and tapes with speed and precision. Our laser processing systems automatically align to existing features in the part or other fluidic layers, eliminating alignment issues that can occur with other processing technology. We can also use our laser systems to create customer circuitry integrated into the device. Our experienced engineers have developed industry-leading laser processing technology that can produce complex features and still be cost-effective in high volume. We will work with you to understand the critical requirements of your design and develop a manufacturing process that will quickly scale to high-volume production.

Advantages of Laser Ablation

Laser ablation can remove incredibly thin amounts of material with minimal heat transfer. The process is very flexible, and the same setup can cut many different shapes within the same material thickness. Here are some of the advantages of roll-to-roll laser ablation:

  • Cost-Effective
  • Minimal Heat Transfer
  • Cost-Effective
  • Environmentally Friendly
  • Flexible
  • Precise
  • Repeatable
  • Fast
