Microjet Cutting

Micro Waterjet Cutting

Micro waterjet cutting is a precise machining process that uses a high-pressure stream of water mixed with an abrasive substance, to cut intricate and delicate shapes from a variety of materials. This technology utilizes high-precision motion stages to cut parts with smooth, taper-free sidewalls with micron-level accuracy.

Micro Waterjet Cutting Applications

Micro Waterjet Cutting applies to 2-dimensional cutting through flat objects with a maximum size of approximately 2 feet.

This technique is ideal for creating small, detailed parts with tight tolerances, making it ideal for medical device manufacturing.

Micro waterjet cutting operates at a much finer scale than traditional waterjet cutting, allowing for minimal material wastage and the ability to cut extremely thin or complex patterns without causing thermal or mechanical damage to the material.

Micro Waterjet Cutting Specifications

Micro Waterjet Cutting can effectively cut through multiple inches of material. There is efficiency crossover point with other technology we have such as laser and wire EDM.
