Resonetics Announces Nitinol Tubing Capability and Capacity Investments in Bethel, CT Facility

Investment includes premium nitinol tubing initiative to produce best-in-class product

Nashua, NH, March 26, 2025 — Today Resonetics announced details of its recent investment to create expanded capability and capacity for its nitinol tubing production, including its premium nitinol tubing initiative, in its Bethel, CT facility.

This investment has more than doubled the floor space for nitinol tubing manufacturing in this facility. In addition to the increased space, investments have been made in dedicated equipment and personnel to increase and improve plant capability.

Resonetics is already proving the benefits of these investments through a reduction in production lead time for standard-grade nitinol tubing, cutting them by 50% since last year. Additional enhancements – including expanded material stock as part of its Lightspeed Lab® prototyping establishment in Bethel – will enable prototype quantities to ship in as little as a few weeks, accelerating customers’ product development timelines.

Resonetics’ premium nitinol tubing initiative is a fundamental aspect of this expansion and investment. The initiative focuses on producing industry-leading nitinol tubing with ultra-tight dimensional tolerances, optimized microstructure, and pristine surface finishes. These characteristics are critical in applications such as structural heart implants, neurovascular implants, and other next-generation minimally invasive devices requiring superior precision and longevity. Testing across these three characteristics has demonstrated promising results, including >98% concentricity and a twofold improvement in fatigue durability through microstructural refinement. The project is led by a team of in-house Resonetics nitinol experts and will be commercial-ready in 2026.

“Our customers are pushing the limits of device performance, and they need tubing that keeps up,” said Eric Veit, Vice President, Nitinol Business Development. “With this expansion and our premium tubing program, we’re not just increasing output – we’re raising the bar on what’s possible.”

This expansion underscores Resonetics’ long-term commitment to supporting medical device OEMs with faster, higher-quality, and more innovative tubing solutions from its U.S.-based facilities.
