Reagent and Chemistry Handling

Resonetics’ precision automated reagent placement and coating machines help bring parts to their full potential. Precise control of material surface properties is essential to develop new, reliable, efficient, and multifunctional components for lab-on-a-chip, or LoC, devices. LoC assays often require one or more reagents to obtain test results. Pre-loading of reagents reduces end-user handling steps and prolongs product shelf life. Correct reagent application is critical to optimize functionality. If you’re looking to enhance component or assembly performance with reagent coating and spotting, we can help.

Automated Reagent Placement and Coating

Resonetics is an ISO 9001:2015- and 13485:2016-certified contract manufacturer of medical devices. Our area of expertise is automated reagent placement, coating, and spotting. Using non-contact, quantitative fluid dispensing systems, we can coat your custom microfluidic devices or PoC/PoT diagnostic tests with reagents as needed.

Our automated reagent placement systems can dispense and aspirate from a few nanoliters up to microliters. The droplets are made by high-resolution syringe pumps integrated with sophisticated systems. They can drop specified volumes exactly where needed, within a fraction of a millimeter. It can also be programmed to coat a line of reagent or flood a specific area with multiple drops, covering larger areas.

Medical Device & Technology Markets We Serve

Innovators developing groundbreaking microfluidic testing devices rely on Resonetics to help them design a manufacturable product, improve their time to market and quickly scale to high-volume manufacturing. Here are some of the applications where microfluidic laminates are used:

  • Diagnostics
  • Microfluidics
  • Advanced Wound Care
  • Wearable Biosensors
  • COVID-19 Test Manufacturing
