Electromechanical Sensors

Industry Leading Prototype Solutions

The Resonetics Lightspeed Lab is a group of engineers and technicians deploying dedicated, state-of-the-art equipment to provide quick-turn prototyping solutions for the medical device and advanced diagnostic markets. Each Lightspeed Lab has technology expertise and develops manufacturing processes that can easily scale to high-volume production, which enables our customers to develop and launch products in record time.

Experts in Fiber Optic & Electromechanical Sensors

Our sensors Lightspeed Lab team includes engineers and scientists who are experts in electromechanical and fiber optic sensors. Our team will collaborate with your product development team to connect your critical device measurement requirements with the optimal sensor technology.

Fiber Optic Sensors

Our team of fiber optic sensor experts has developed standard fiber optic sensor products and readout units that can easily be integrated into a catheter device. This team will collaborate with your product development team to understand the critical sensor needs of your device to recommend the best fiber optic sensor solution. If a standard sensor product does meet the needs of your application, our team can develop a custom fiber optic sensor solution. Our fiber optic sensor development kit is an easy way to start evaluating fiber optic sensor technology. It contains everything that is needed to start testing sensors, including different versions of standard fiber optic sensor products and a readout unit.

Electromechanical Sensors

The electromechanical sensors team includes technical experts who will work with your product development team to understand the device measurement requirements and develop the right electromechanical sensor technology for your application. This includes designing the sensor, integrating it into a device or subassembly, and developing a complete testing protocol. We understand the complexity of sensor projects and have project managers on our Lightspeed team that will manage the process from initial design through process validation and commercial launch.

Fiber Optic Sensors

  • Working length section diameters as small as 0.8 French (size in mm)
  • Lead-in fiber diameter less than 0.5 French (size in mm)
  • Exceptionally flexible glass fiber offers superior deliverability without kinking
  • Front-looking configuration of sensor tips prevents side-facing/wall-bouncing measurement artifacts
  • Lack of metallic components provides immunity to RF, MW, and MRI interference

Electromechanical Sensors

  • Custom electromechanical sensor design and integration
  • Sensor and electrical leads can be integrated on one component
  • Multiple electromechanical sensors integrated into one component to save space
  • Complete development of testing protocols and equipment
  • Applications: strain gauges, temperature sensors, near field communication coils, and diagnostic sensors

Sensor Manufacturing Capabilities

  • Experts in designing electromechanical and fiber optic sensors and signal conditioners for the measurement of temperature, pressure, and force
  • Highly skilled engineering team with extensive experience developing FDA-approved devices
  • In-house electronics, mechanical, chemistry, and optics experts
  • Stringent quality assurance and regulatory compliance following industry best practices
  • Partnerships with leading universities, institutes, and research centers

Working with the Lightspeed Lab

The primary goal of our Lightspeed Lab is to accelerate our customer’s product development cycle. This acceleration is accomplished via:
