Polymeric Stent & Frame Coverings
Resonetics offers laser cut and braided nitinol devices by employing innovative MEDIBRANE coverings and coatings.
Using state-of-the-art equipment with advanced manufacturing processes Resonetics applies polymeric stent & frame coverings that reduce component variation and production cost.
Resonetics utilizes high-powered femtosecond lasers, combined with newly designed electropolishing systems and proprietary processes for joining biocompatible fabrics or polymers to metal frames, better enabling critical medical devices of the future.
Together with the MEDIBRANE portfolio of advanced covering options for various device geometries and materials, Resonetics has applied a lamination technique for a sutureless joining process. By doing so, this process offers strong adhesion, thin wall dimensions and a lower cost to assemble. Additional options exist for implants and delivery system components.
POLYMERIC STENT AND FRAME COVERING ADVANTAGES
- Low wall thickness
- Low crimping profile
- Automated technology
- Faster manufacturing time
- Smaller delivery forces
- Single or Double Layer (Inner diameter or both inner and outer cover layers)
- Wall Thickness Range: 60 – 200 [μm]
MEDIBRANE POLYMERIC COVERING & COATING TECHNOLOGY
The medical device industry has progressively adopted ePTFE (expanded Polytetrafluoroethylene) and today it is commonly used in many medical markets including gastroenterology stents and structural heart devices.
Our experts have implemented it in another breakthrough. Overcoming the challenges of suturing, they developed the innovative sutureless lamination technology enabling good adhesion with the use of ePTFE. This new technology, in which ePTFE can be laminated onto a metal frame, enables engineers to replace the old-fashioned suturing technique. Using a high quality, fast and reliable manufacturing process, Resonetics prepares that metal frame to the most scrutinized standards.
