Sensor Integration

As devices increase in complexity and decrease in size, there is an increasing demand for custom sensors to be built directly into new medical devices. We can supply our standard and custom sensors integrated into a subassembly, catheter delivery system, or device. Our engineers will develop the best process to integrate our sensors into your medical device to ensure they collect accurate data during use. We will help your team answer complex questions, such as how the sensor will impact the device behavior, steerability concerns, or how device size can affect the thermal response of a temperature probe.

Resonetics provides finished subassemblies with custom-designed sensors attached and ready for easy integration into a device on a manufacturing line. Our process eliminates uncertainty and errors that can occur from not securing sensors properly and helps ensure your devices function as intended.

Sensor Testing

One of the most critical aspects of adding sensing technology to your medical device is the testing that verifies that the sensor is functioning properly. Our engineers can develop testing protocols to ensure that each sensor meets the performance requirements. For our fiber optic sensors, each sensor is tested and calibrated prior to shipment. The readout unit uses this calibration data during operation. For our electromechanical sensors, we can perform testing throughout the manufacturing process to confirm the sensor is functioning correctly throughout the manufacturing process. Resonetics engineers are experts in the fundamentals of each sensor and will develop functional test methods and equipment with end-to-end sensor fabrication and assembly support. Functional testing is performed before integrating a device and after device assembly to ensure consistent outcomes.
